Todos sabemos o significado de When, certo? When significa “Quando”:
When is your birthday?……………..Quando é o seu aniversário?
When is she cming home?………….Quando ela vem pra casa?
I’ll let you know when she’s here…..Eu te aviso quando ela estiver aqui.
Mas também é possível substituir o “when” por “as” ,sabia? Mas só quando “when” puder ser substituído por “assim que” ou “no momento em que”. Basicamente quando falamos sobre situações quase que imediatamente após alguma ação. Olha os exemplos:
When I get home I’ll call you………………………As I get home I’ll call you…………..Assim que eu chegar em casa, te ligo.
She had breakfast when she got up………………She had breakfast as she got up……Ela tomou café da manhã assim que se levantou
I’ll finish the report when I arrive at the office…….I’ll finish the report as I arrive at the office……Terminarei o relatório no que chegar ao escritório
